Youth4Media meeting in Lublin

New ideas how to improve our training courses in the field of video journalism and cross media journalism as well as concrete project planning for the whole year. These are the results of the Youth4Media meeting in Lublin (02-04.04.2012).

During a three day meeting we were working in 2 groups. The first one consisted of media trainers and experts. The second one of project leaders and managers of the network association and Youth4Media founding members (Nowy Staw Foundation and the AKO Bennohaus).

One group made evaluation of the video journalism module and discussed concrete ideas for improvement of the module. They were discussing the time framework, objectives, learning outcomes, products, organizational aspects and preparation to the course in the form of e-learning. Moreover they have planned concrete course seminars according to the rule of partnership. We will use those seminars to test our new approaches and improvements we have decided about.

Following points were detailed discussed and described in the evaluation forms:

  • the role of the trainer in the course and the preparation of a trainer
  • selection of participants and communication with the participants
  • some methods of work: how to make the course more effective, how to introduce the course objective and rules
  • e-learnig platform for module A and the role of a tutor
  • training course management.

The second group was dealing with the topic of quality management in the training courses, planning of activities, promotion of our work and ideas for improvement of the module B – crossmedia journalism.

Another important outcome of the meeting is the concrete plan of media workshops and a training course seminar in Lublin and Münster (summer 2012). Media trainers were discussing in details objectives, methods and tasks for each partner organization.

The meeting was supported by the Polish – German Youth Office and the European Youth4Media Network e.V.
