Kaliméra MeLDE!

MeLDE project – Digital Literacy in the Digitalised era: supporting teachers through a whole-school approach – has been initiated over a year ago by 5 partner organisations from Cyprus, Greece and Germany. The 3rd TPM took place in Athens, Greece (22.-23.10.2019).

During the meeting in the capital of Greece, the project leader University of Wolverhampton officially closed the IO1 – MeLDE Framework – and thanked the partners for active involvement and fruitful outcomes (check them here). The work on IO2 – MeLDE Educational Tool Bank and Academy – has been already started. Emphasys from Cyprus, this IO leader, has handed over the details and deadlines of the activities included in the second intellectual output. What is more, the hosting organisation – Demokritos – presented the first draft of the MeLDE e-learning platform (IO3), which met a positive response from all the partners (http://melde.iit.demokritos.gr/). The e-platform will provide teachers and students with teaching materials and information about such topics as: safety online, digital content creation or using digital databases. The MeLDE Competence Framework can be found on the official website of the project – http://meldeproject.eu/ and is available in 3 languages: English, German and Greek.

Also, a significant event, which will take place in June 2020 in Nicosia, Cyprus has been discussed in details in Athens. The first draft plan for the Joint Staff Training has been created. The participants of the training will have the possibility to learn about the project and to use the e-learning platform. After the meeting in the capital of Cyprus, they will be able to implement the gained knowledge in their work and/or teach other (teachers, trainers, etc.) about digital literacy.

Apart from a successful project meeting, its participants had a chance to visit one of the most beautiful European capitals. Athens, with its Akropolis and ancient Agora, takes you back in time and makes you eager to learn more. The breathtaking Greek views have motivated all the MeLDE partners to work even harder, so that the project results can be efficiently used by its target groups – teachers and students.

MeLDE is supported by the Erasmus + program of the European Union.
