1, 2 ,3... ACTION!

Trees, calmness and a lot of joy… These are things that you are going to find in the media camp in Nasutow, Poland. Participants from different countries joined together to go deep into media.

In the middle of a strong and calm forest of Nasutow, Poland; there is a beautiful place which looks like a part of Heaven. You can see the butterflies dance and listen to the wind as it blows through the trees; and if you are lucky enough, you can hear the laughs of the people who are in a sweet rush and running around to make agreat movie in order to accomplish the ‘media camp’ that they have attended. Yes, a media camp, which is open to youth from all around the world. We have participants from Poland, Germany, Turkey and England forthe current camp and let us take a closer look one of our participants from Turkey: Ezgi Erdem.

Ezgi was born in Adana, Turkey in 1994 and is now a student in Bogazici University in Istanbul, studying political science and international relations. She has her own flat and lives with her dog, so basically she is enjoying her college life away from her parents. We have found out that she has played in several TV shows recently in Turkey; but says she ‘has no experience in media camps’. In her words: ‘I always wanted to do something about media but I was just able to play on some TV shows, nothing more. So I am so glad that I had the chance to come to Poland and actually do and learn things about the media. We have great trainers who are really into their work, caring and interested in teaching us what they know.

Moreover, we have a lot of work to do but we are doing them enthusiastically because everything we do is so much fun and interesting. I am in the PR group right now and we are writing articles, doing interviews with the other participants and also making a short video. It will be so much fun! We are working so much but we are also having so much fun at the same time. We have the chance to see around and get to know other cultures. I have been in several camps before but none of them like this, I mean it. And the weather, the environment...is just flawless. All you need to do is go for a little walk and stare at the trees to relax. I wish we could stay here much longer’.

Ezgi Erdem has told us that she did not know what she wanted to become in the future or what she will be doing for a living but we can see that she looks really excited and interested in media, so maybe she will also consider doing something about it in the future. Good luck Ezgi!
