Competence in intercultural education and understanding as well as inter-religious dialogue are among our focus. Ou project will aim at building a network of young people among the partner countries and institutions and will seek a long term and sustainable exchange of experiences and contacts. Seminars, workshops and continuous evaluation will be part of the package.

The youths will be trained in Germany, Poland, Ghana, Nigeria within the time of the project. Young people will contemplate on the issues of democracy, promoting intercultural dialogue and tolerance in our societies and exchange of opinions between different nations in Europe and West-Africa.

The main focus of the project is building a network and a friendship between African and European youth.

The European youth4media network with its 20 members-countries, is actively involved in the project and also acting as a model for the African youth.

The Bennohaus Team and partners from Poland in collaboration with West African media experts will train the young people during the intercultural workshops in the fields of video production, film, Internet TV and audio-video journalism and related areas of information and culture. Our team consists of qualified and trained youth workers, camera men, film producers, media trainers and TV technicians. They will put their expertise and competence at the disposal of the young people in Ghana, Nigeria, Germany and Poland.

Through practical and comprehensive training in news gathering techniques and through active participation in their democratic society, the young people will learn to produce news items, press material and be able to solely organize conferences. The target groups are multipliers and facilitators of cultural institutions, NGO, youth centres, schools, universities and the general public. The most important platforms include TV, Web TV and radio. Among the numerous topics to be handled are: intercultural education, civic responsibility and active citizenship, racism and xenophobia, inter-religious dialogue, conflict management and solutions, gender roles and propagation of the right of women. The participation of under-privileged young people are being given priority in this project and will be emphasised during the seminars and practical exercises.

The main purpose of the project is to raise intercultural understanding between EUROPEAN UNION countries and WEST AFRICAN countries. Media platforms like NGO-TV and intercultural TV-magazines, which are supportive in promoting the structures of civil societies and intercultural communication in Europe will play a formidable role to enhance the awareness in the partner countries in West Africa. All information material (texts, audio, video etc.) will be accessible to a large number of people. The medial products of the young film makers will be broadcasted world-wide on the Internet (www.open-web-tv.eu) and over open television programmes in Europe.
