Mediacamp in Hannover

“Media Trainer for digital creativity and cultivating awareness on climate change” was a training course held in Hannover (DE) where youth workers had the opportunity to improve their competences and skills in using media tools in their daily work with the theme “climate change and sustainability”.

The training was organized by the German NGO “Projektwerkstatt Umwelt und Entwicklung e.V.” through Youth in Action Programme Objective of the seminar was training, improving competences and skills of the responsible youth workers who want to use media tools in their daily work with the theme “climate change and sustainability”.

They worked with the theme „Cultivating awareness on climate change” because it is a very important issue of the global future and for that reason it is one of the main-issues for young people in almost every European country.

The training introduced 28 multipliers from 8 EU-countries and Turkey to the methods of raising the European awareness, promoting environmental protection and sustainability together with intercultural dialogue and fostering of understanding and cooperation between young people in Europe with the help of Community Media and Web-TV-tools.

They had the opportunity to visit and learn from ecological and environmentally friendly businesses and istitutions in Hannover, and to conduct street interviews with the public’s opinion on important social issues. They produced video reports that they presented on an open event.
