Let's debate - Seminar in Poland

The first seminar-training in Poland (Nowy Sącz, September 2008) was focused on political education and related issues. Among discussed themes there were: impact of EU policies in societies and The Reform Treaty.

During the seminar «Let’s Debate» leaders of civil society organizations from Poland, Germany, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic, Malta, Estonia, Portugal and United Kingdom learnt how to use media in political and civil education.

They debated over the key themes that are of current concern to EU – the future of the Reform Treaty and the process of the European integration. The seminar gave opportunities to discuss EU relations with Russia in the light of the recent military conflict in Georgia. Special guests of the seminar was the rector of the Caucasus University Kakha Shengelia.

Participants of the seminar in Poland could:

  • discuss programs of political education and opportunities of launching similar projects across Europe
  • explore innovative strategies and creative tools for civil society organizations
  • get to know about common European identity and the need for consolidating sense of European citizenship
  • discuss pros and cons of the Reform Treaty
  • debate with European policy makers about the future of common Europe
