The Institute of Journalism

The Institute of Journalism, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, is a higher education institution with a 70-years history. Back in 1953, The Faculty of Journalism was founded at Kyiv University. 40 years later, on the base of the Faculty there was opened the Institute of Journalism.

Only professional journalists and the best scholars of the specialty “061 Journalism” and “021 Audiovisual Art and Production” work at our Institute.

We believe that education is a public service and we are the organization, responsible for providing the best service. In Ukraine, our Institute is the most respected institution that prepares professional journalists, editors, advertisers, and PR specialists. The student have an opportunity to work in the teams of the most popular Ukrainian media starting from the second year of studies.

We collaborate with the best European universities in order to find the best opportunities for our students. We have recently started a double diploma programmes with two major universities of Poland - Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa.

The Institute of Journalism works with different non-governmental journalistic organizations so the students are able to practice in the field and produce media products during the period of studies.
