Citizen Media Award 2017

Cultural heritage in video and audio contributions

Media makers have been awarded for their work at the "Citizen Media Award 2017"

Münster. A lot of excitement lay in the air last Saturday in the Bennohaus Münster: Film makers and active participants in the field of non-commercial media have been awarded for their work during the International Media Citizen Award ceremony on Saturday 6th of May. The prize was presented by the Bennohaus and the ”European Youth4Media Network e.V.“ in cooperation with "Open Channels for Europe". The categories were audio and video.

“Cultural Heritage – The memory of our past, the key to our future” – the numerous contributions that were handed in following this guideline barely could have been more diverse. This also became evident in the fact that all continents except for the Antarctic and Australia were represented during this year’s International Citizen Media Award.

The Vietnamese Giang Nguyen was awarded the winner of the category audio. She had contributed a documentation about a culture festival in the city of Hue. The Philippine Breech Asher Haraini emerged as the winner of the category video. He was able to convince the jury to a combination of a video and a cartoon about the difficulties of a young Muslim living in a western society.
