…see you soon!

30 people, 7 days, 2 countries and 1 goal – break the walls in our minds - the stereotypes concerning our countries and let the friendship between Germans and Israeli bloom in the city of Rishon LeZion. The second part of “The Walls of Remembrance” project, which started on 5 October 2015 and took place in Israel, has already finished.

Thirty creative people from Israel and Germany met in Rishon LeZion – the fourth biggest city in Israel – where they spent magnificent and busy seven days. They worked in four groups: a music group, a film group, a documentary group and an art group. During that week those talented people have created two splendid songs, the second part of a short film titled “2 know each other” and a stunning graffitti - all of which relating to the topic of the project. During the project the participants visited Jerusalem, went for a concert of “Tararam” band in Tel-Aviv and attended an Israeli traditional shabbat dinner. They also visited local restaurants and pubs as well as saw Rishon LeZion’s beautiful beach

The closing ceremony took place on 11 October 2015 in Youth Department in Rishon LeZion held by Ms. Meyraf Kopito – the Israeli organizer. All the group leaders presented the outcome of their groups' work. Daria Jaranaowska – the manager of Youth4Media had a special gift for all of the participants. She prepared a music video for “Leitkadem” – the song written during the first part of the project in July 2015 In Münster. Toda raba Daria! What’s more our music group played for us “Leitkadem” live once again… That evening was unforgettable. In the end all the participants received a certificate of participation handed by Ms. Kopito.

The beginning of the cooperation between AKO Bürgerhaus Bennohaus, Youth Department and Revivim High school started last year when the organizations did a project concernig Yiddish songs which took place in Münster and Rishon Le-Zion. In April 2015 the mayor of Rishon Le-Zion came to Münster and also visited Bennohaus where he discussed with Mr. Joachim Musholt about next project ´The Walls of Remembrance´. All the projects are organized by AKO Bürgerhaus Bennohaus in association with Youth Department Rishon Le-Zion and Revivim High School. Sponsored by LWL and supported by Stadt Münster, Freundeskreis Rishon Le-Zion and Municipality Rishon Le-Zion.

All the participants want to thank for organizing `The Walls of Remembrance´ project and giving them the possibility to participate in it. We’re looking forward for the next German-Israeli projects and until we meet again, just remember:

`Good friends never say goodbye. They simply say: see you soon!” :)
