The leader of the local Youth Initiative – Magdalena Gnyp organized the participants interested in media by her foundation called Nowy Staw. She did so by putting the information on their website and contacting them via facebook. She also took her time to write e-mails to the individual volunteers to make the meeting happen. It was worth it because the idea of combining skills of creative young individuals always sparks the light of ideas and produces something of value. This time was no exception.
On the 9th of January 2015 Nowy Staw Foundation met with people interested in the idea of Team up project. The goal of the meeting was to promote the idea and products of Team Up project. ‘We decided to create short presentation to make everything clear for our listeners. They got to know about the international idea of working together creating one digital TV agazine, having media trainings in Germany and Poland and work in our local group’ – admits Magdalena Gnyp. The Nowy Staw Foundation invited all for joining local activities and taking part in the next media camp in Poland. All participants were really involved and were interested in the Team Up magazines. They found interesting topics, creative ideas, ways of bringing information to the public and forms of moderation. They had many ideas for the next topics and short movies. They shared them in the brain-storming sessions and were excited to be able to put them into action on the next meeting on one of the camps. The media trainer, Magdalena Gnyp, says: ‘When we talked in the groups at the end of the meeting they hoped to participate in such a project in a future and develop their media skills. It was a real pleasure to meet all these people interested in media and ready to work for the community.’
The future of media sounds optimistic looking at the enthusiasm of the team-mates of the Nowy Staw meeting. They really seem to be involved by researching techniques, looking for inspiration in different media types, combining skills and talking at length about their plans. If all goes well then we will have new famous directors, screenwriters and stars of the big screen to look forward to. Until that time let’s give them time to gather abilities, gain experience and do what they do best: create.
